The organic olive oil from Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro is the great reference of this three-dimensional experience that takes place in a beautiful space in Oporto downtown. Only with organic and certified products, its main objective is to give transversal prominence to olive oil, one of the most important cultures in the region and which is fundamental to its economy, serving regional delicacies from Trás-os-Montes and Alto-Douro on a platter, such as cheeses, sausages, honey, dry fruits, jams, wines, among others. In the main window, you will find two olive trees that grow in a glass vase and let you guess the experience that is coming, opening the doors to the great attraction and what is its greatest innovation, a compact wine press that allows its visitors and customers to see how the olive is transformed into the so-called “green gold”. In all, the process takes about one hour, giving rise to a unique and enriching journey through the fascinating world of olive growing. The mill is in operation between October and December, however it can be visited throughout the year.
